SECURE RESCUE
(Anagrammatic Story Title)
🎥
Jeremy Llewellyn-Taylor, videotape editor for BBC Wales, had cut numerous documentaries, everything from sheep‑shearing contests to a three‑hour special on Welsh roundabouts.
So when the next assignment landed on his desk, namely, Search and Rescue Dogs of Snowdonia, he nearly saluted the monitor.
🎥
“This will be the Documentary of the Year!”, he promised!
“At last,” he told the director, “a proper, secure rescue story. Fur, drama and absolutely no roundabouts.”
🐕🦺
Their star was Bryn, a ruggedly handsome police rescue dog with a jawline that could sell cologne. Fitted with a radio transmitter and given a few screen tests, the ever-so-reliable hound hit his marks with such precision that the cameraman muttered, “He’s more professional than half the presenters!”
Then, unbelievably and coincidentally, the emergency call came just at the right time for the documentary.
“A lone climber missing near Cwm Glas,” the dispatcher announced. “Mist thickening. Rescue imminent.”
The director’s eyes gleamed. He said optimistically, “Animals. Human interest. Bad weather. Danger. Happy ending. I promise we’ll make this a BAFTA winning secure rescue masterpiece! ”
🐕🦺
Bryn sniffed the climber’s jacket, previously retrieved from his hotel room, raised his noble snout and blasted up the mountain like an exocet missile.
The rescue Jeep thundered after him. Inside, the reporter narrated breathlessly.
🎥
The documentary was filming smoothly.
“Viewers, Bryn’s signal is moving fast, at an astonishing pace.
Oh! The blip has stopped… it’s circling!”
“Bingo!” he shouted. “He must have found the lost climber. An avalanche? He is trained to stay with the victim until help arrives.”
🎥
The director clapped. “Keep rolling! This is gold.”
The crew leapt from the Land Rover, scrambling across the rocky terrain. The steadicam operator fed back thrilling live shots: swirling mist, pounding boots, heroic urgency. Perfect!
“Ready to zoom in on the wonder dog,” the director whispered, vibrating with anticipation.
They crested the ridge.

And froze.
🐕🦺
Bryn was indeed circling something. But it wasn’t the climber. It was a stray mountain bitch; and the two dogs were enthusiastically, vigorously, and undeniably…..conjugating pleasurably.
😂
The reporter blinked. “Well… that’s not in the training manual!”
The director groaned. “Cut the feed! Bryn, for heaven’s sake! We can’t broadcast this!”

But before despair could settle, a faint voice drifted through the mist.
“Hello? Anyone there?”
The missing climber waved from behind a nearby boulder.
🐕🦺
“I saw your dog,” he said as they rushed over. “Followed him up the ridge. Then he… er… got distracted! But if he hadn’t led me this far, I’d still be lost.”
The director blinked. “So… the dog did rescue you?”
🐕🦺
“Indirectly,” the climber smiled. “And I suppose he’s vigorously rescuing someone else now!”
Bryn, still proudly entangled, barked triumphantly, having accomplished its mission!!
🎬
Jeremy later titled the episode: SECURE RESCUE: The Dog Who Saved Two Lives and Started a Romance.

END

But quite the happy ending the documentarians were expecting. 😎
Interesting one
